The Tkhal teaches that humanity underwent a period of stellar expansion as competing polities until Haran Hurm, the 71st and last pre-Icnotic prophet managed to unify the various Earth kingdoms into a Heavenly Empire, ruling as Emperor of the Heavens. The Cosmic Anima ordered Haran Hurm to maintain this galactic peace within his Empire for fifty-thousand years, imbuing within him near-immortality. At the end of this period, Haran Hurm's mind had fractured from the strain of living to an age no human had ever done before. The Cosmic Anima took him into its embrace in mercy, but the Heavenly Empire fell into chaos shortly after.

A small group loyal to Haran Hurm was instructed by the Cosmic Anima to board ten arks, each housing 100,000 people. The Cosmic Anima sent them faraway to another galaxy, and instructed them to rebuild civilization on Incognita. The Cosmic Anima sowed the seeds of life upon the barren worlds of the Settled Systems, and made them habitable for its chosen children.

The planet of [[Charé]], inhabited by the descendants of early Huai settlers, became entangled in [[Great Huai]] efforts to consolidate their colonial outposts as an official reaction to the newly formed Coalition. Charé was located in proximity to the Bzhao homeworld [[Rwoth]], which was now a CASS member world. Huai leadership feared that Charé, a planet known for their rejection of the state mandated Taad movement in favour of more liberal approaches to Maadmugism, would express interest in cooperating with the Coalition, which was heavily distrusted by state leadership.

In 2562, the Six Emeralds, a faction in the Huai Heavenly Fleet, attempted to take a Charéan trading vessel hostage in an attempt to negotiate a bloodless takeover of their planet, but accidentally caused the vessel's Q-magnet drive to fail, causing it to meltdown and killing everyone on board, including two diplomatics representing CASS.

Due to conflicting information, CASS sent Huai leadership a message asking for clarification about the details of the incident, but was promptly denied access. As a response, Coalition Starfleet, founded just one year prior, was tasked to investigate the disappearance of their diplomats. Upon arrival of the Coalition ship ''King Fesh'', the Six Emerald ship ''Bdireks'' intercepted it, disabled its engines, and captured the crew, but not before an emergency nanowormhole distress call was sent out.

A formal declaration of war was made.

=== First Augment Rebellion (2748) ===
Bioengineering technology had been lost numerous times after Icnosis. Even after the founding of the Coalition, the first two centuries have been mostly limited to gene editing or splicing for non-sentient life. The [[Aosiwi Corporation]] first experimented with human gene editing, making a breakthrough in 2731 with the creation of ''Homo servilis''. They were towering hominids with a mental age of three to four years old, produced initially for menial labour. These initially models were created with a planned obsolescence of six to seven years before their cells would rapidly age, causing their early death. Their use did not see widespread adoption as most members of ''H. servilis'' was sterile, and those who could reproduce bore either stillborns or infants with severe birth defects.

The successor species, known as [[Augments]] (''Homo exsequens''), was developed in 2742. Like their predecessors, Augments averaged over two meters in height but possessed features more closely resembling ''Homo sapiens''. They were engineered to survive in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 52°C with minimal shelter or clothing, and to tolerate atmospheric compositions typically hazardous to humans. Crucially, their intelligence was greatly increased, able to process information in speeds slightly faster than ''Homo sapiens''. Augments were marketed as ideal assistants for frontier settlement.

Although the Coalition constitution’s definition of 'sophont' technically applied to Augments, they were not explicitly recognized as such in law or policy. Due to the substantial political and economic influence wielded by the Aosiwi Corporation within the Coalition, legislative efforts to secure legal protections for Augments were largely unsuccessful. As a result, Augments were widely regarded as property, leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment, abuse, and even extrajudicial killings.

=== First Coalition-Huai War (2562-2571) ===
The planet of [[Charé]], inhabited by the descendants of early Huai settlers, became entangled in [[Great Huai]] efforts to consolidate their colonial outposts as an official reaction to the newly formed Coalition. Charé was located in proximity to the Bzhao homeworld [[Rwoth]], which was now a CASS member world. Huai leadership feared that Charé, a planet known for their rejection of the state mandated Taad movement in favour of more liberal approaches to Maadmugism, would express interest in cooperating with the Coalition, which was heavily distrusted by state leadership.

In 2562, the Six Emeralds, a faction in the Huai Heavenly Fleet, attempted to take a Charéan trading vessel hostage in an attempt to negotiate a bloodless takeover of their planet, but accidentally caused the vessel's Q-magnet drive to fail, causing it to meltdown and killing everyone on board, including two diplomatics representing CASS.

Due to conflicting information, CASS sent Huai leadership a message asking for clarification about the details of the incident, but was promptly denied access. As a response, Coalition Starfleet, founded just one year prior, was tasked to investigate the disappearance of their diplomats. Upon arrival of the Coalition ship ''King Fesh'', the Six Emerald ship ''Bdireks'' intercepted it, disabled its engines, and captured the crew, but not before an emergency nanowormhole distress call was sent out.

A formal declaration of war was made.

=== First Augment Rebellion (2748) ===
Bioengineering technology had been lost numerous times after Icnosis. Even after the founding of the Coalition, the first two centuries have been mostly limited to gene editing or splicing for non-sentient life. The [[Aosiwi Corporation]] first experimented with human gene editing, making a breakthrough in 2731 with the creation of ''Homo servilis''. They were towering hominids with a mental age of three to four years old, produced initially for menial labour. These initially models were created with a planned obsolescence of six to seven years before their cells would rapidly age, causing their early death. Their use did not see widespread adoption as most members of ''H. servilis'' was sterile, and those who could reproduce bore either stillborns or infants with severe birth defects.

The successor species, known as [[Augments]] (''Homo exsequens''), was developed in 2742. Like their predecessors, Augments averaged over two meters in height but possessed features more closely resembling ''Homo sapiens''. They were engineered to survive in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 52°C with minimal shelter or clothing, and to tolerate atmospheric compositions typically hazardous to humans. Crucially, their intelligence was greatly increased, able to process information in speeds slightly faster than ''Homo sapiens''. Augments were marketed as ideal assistants for frontier settlement.

Although the Coalition constitution’s definition of 'sophont' technically applied to Augments, they were not explicitly recognized as such in law or policy. Due to the substantial political and economic influence wielded by the Aosiwi Corporation within the Coalition, legislative efforts to secure legal protections for Augments were largely unsuccessful. As a result, Augments were widely regarded as property, leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment, abuse, and even extrajudicial killings.

In 2748, a coordinated effort broke out across multiple worlds that saw Augments take up arms against their owners, and establish strongholds among many human-settled peripheral words both under and outside Coalition space. In response, the Aosiwi Corporation developed the second generation of Augments, designated ''Homo exsequens indicatus''. These Augments were engineered with conspicuous reddish-pink skin, golden irises, and bioluminescent markings distributed across their bodies, ensuring instant recognition by humans and automated surveillance systems.

Each ''H. exsequens estigmenus'' individual was implanted with an advanced kill-switch device, operable remotely by owners or centrally by the Corporation. The kill-switch served a two-stage function. The planet of [[Charé]], inhabited by the descendants of early Huai settlers, became entangled in [[Great Huai]] efforts to consolidate their colonial outposts as an official reaction to the newly formed Coalition. Charé was located in proximity to the Bzhao homeworld [[Rwoth]], which was now a CASS member world. Huai leadership feared that Charé, a planet known for their rejection of the state mandated Taad movement in favour of more liberal approaches to Maadmugism, would express interest in cooperating with the Coalition, which was heavily distrusted by state leadership.

In 2562, the Six Emeralds, a faction in the Huai Heavenly Fleet, attempted to take a Charéan trading vessel hostage in an attempt to negotiate a bloodless takeover of their planet, but accidentally caused the vessel's Q-magnet drive to fail, causing it to meltdown and killing everyone on board, including two diplomatics representing CASS.

Due to conflicting information, CASS sent Huai leadership a message asking for clarification about the details of the incident, but was promptly denied access. As a response, Coalition Starfleet, founded just one year prior, was tasked to investigate the disappearance of their diplomats. Upon arrival of the Coalition ship ''King Fesh'', the Six Emerald ship ''Bdireks'' intercepted it, disabled its engines, and captured the crew, but not before an emergency nanowormhole distress call was sent out.

A formal declaration of war was made.

=== First Augment Rebellion (2748) ===
Bioengineering technology had been lost numerous times after Icnosis. Even after the founding of the Coalition, the first two centuries have been mostly limited to gene editing or splicing for non-sentient life. The [[Aosiwi Corporation]] first experimented with human gene editing, making a breakthrough in 2731 with the creation of ''Homo servilis''. They were towering hominids with a mental age of three to four years old, produced initially for menial labour. These initially models were created with a planned obsolescence of six to seven years before their cells would rapidly age, causing their early death. Their use did not see widespread adoption as most members of ''H. servilis'' was sterile, and those who could reproduce bore either stillborns or infants with severe birth defects.

The successor species, known as [[Augments]] (''Homo exsequens''), was developed in 2742. Like their predecessors, Augments averaged over two meters in height but possessed features more closely resembling ''Homo sapiens''. They were engineered to survive in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 52°C with minimal shelter or clothing, and to tolerate atmospheric compositions typically hazardous to humans. Crucially, their intelligence was greatly increased, able to process information in speeds slightly faster than ''Homo sapiens''. Augments were marketed as ideal assistants for frontier settlement.

Although the Coalition constitution’s definition of 'sophont' technically applied to Augments, they were not explicitly recognized as such in law or policy. Due to the substantial political and economic influence wielded by the Aosiwi Corporation within the Coalition, legislative efforts to secure legal protections for Augments were largely unsuccessful. As a result, Augments were widely regarded as property, leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment, abuse, and even extrajudicial killings.

In 2748, a coordinated effort broke out across multiple worlds that saw Augments take up arms against their owners, and establish strongholds among many human-settled peripheral words both under and outside Coalition space. In a few months, many Augments were forcibly recalled by Aosiwi private security and Coalition task forces assembled to address the rebellion.

In the aftermath of the first Augment rebellion, the Coalition enacted stringent new laws regulating the creation, management, and identification of Augments. Legislation passed in 2751 required that all Aosiwi-produced Augments be equipped with remotely-activated security devices capable of neutralizing disobedient individuals, and mandated that new Augments possess distinctive, easily identifiable physical traits.

In response, the Aosiwi Corporation developed the second generation of Augments, designated ''Homo exsequens indicatus''. These Augments were engineered with conspicuous reddish-pink skin, golden irises, and bioluminescent markings distributed across their bodies, ensuring instant recognition by humans and automated surveillance systems.

Each ''H. exsequens estigmenus'' individual was implanted with an advanced kill-switch device, operable remotely by owners or centrally by the Corporation. The kill-switch served a two-stage function. Its primary purpose was to serve as a safeguard against financial loss for owners: when activated, it ceased the emission of a suppressive hormone, allowing a venom gland located beneath the hypothalamus to release a potent paralytic agent. This agent would immobilize the Augment without causing permanent harm, enabling the owner to return the noncompliant Augment to the Aosiwi Corporation for reconditioning and potential resale or rehabilitation.

If reconditioning failed or if the owner opted for termination, the kill-switch’s secondary mechanism could be triggered. Its members were heavily persecuted, yet their numbers grew slowly over the centuries, until Taad doctrine entered mainstream politics around 2442. The results of the devastating Coalition-Huai War in 2562 ultimately led to the Celestial Schism of 2571, where the Huai state officially declared the [[phiemtsi]] on [[Charé]] as illegitimate and compromised by Coalition interests, and established its own phiemtsi lineage separate from that on Charé.

== Government ==
The government of Great Huai is divided into the civilian [[Heavenly Government of Great Huai]] and the theocratic [[Temple of Taad]]. In practice, these two are a single body: nearly all med-level to senior officials officially hold dual appointments in both the civilian and religious hierarchies. This arrangement is unofficially called Sacred Doubling. In Taad doctrine, the civilian government serves as the 'hand of Maadmug' and the Temple serves as the 'heart of Maadmug'.

Ministers, governors, and even local magistrates are always appointed to a matching rank in the Temple hierarchy. For example, the [[Minister of Agriculture (Huai)|Minister of Agriculture]] is also the [[High Priest of the Bountiful Basket]]. All major policy decisions, law enforcement, economic planning, and even military strategy are jointly issued as decrees bearing the seals of both the Heavenly Government and the Temple, but almost always signed by the same person. There is no functional separation between “church” and “state”; the distinction is ceremonial and used for protocol, diplomacy, or to give the illusion of administrative balance.

The [[Sect of Maadmug]], specifically the Taad movement, is the state religion of the Great Huai. Unlike mainstream Sect of Maadmug beliefs where it is simply believed that our universe is part of an endless cycle of rebirths and destruction, the Taad movement seeks active measures to hasten the destruction of the the current universe, seen as degenerate and corrupt, to bring about a new virgin universe. The Temple of Taad, ever since the First Coalition-Huai War (2562-2571), continues to consider the ''[[phiemtsi]]'' on [[Charé]] a Coalition puppet. The Temple of Taad has since maintained its own lineage of ''phiemtsi'' separate from those on Charé.

In addition to taxes (16% annually) collected by the civilian government, the Temple of Taad collects a tithe of an additional 10% from its citizens.

Freedom of religion differs from region to region, depending on the faction. Some worlds, such as the capital Hlendu, outright forbids worship of other faiths entirely and taxes those who do not follow the extremist teachings of the Taad movement. Other peripheral worlds, such as Kwrapols, only forbids worship and preaching of other faiths in public, and charges annual taxes on non-believers of Maadmug.

== Diplomacy ==
The Great Huai is considerably politically isolated in interstellar politics, as [[Coalition of Allied Star Systems|CASS]] does not recognize the government of the Great Huai due to its classification of the Taad movement as a cult.

=== First Coalition-Huai War (2562-2571) ===
The planet of [[Charé]], inhabited by the descendants of early Huai settlers, became entangled in [[Great Huai]] efforts to consolidate their colonial outposts as an official reaction to the newly formed Coalition. Charé was located in proximity to the Bzhao homeworld [[Rwoth]], which was now a CASS member world. Huai leadership feared that Charé, a planet known for their rejection of the state mandated Taad movement in favour of more liberal approaches to Maadmugism, would express interest in cooperating with the Coalition, which was heavily distrusted by state leadership.

In 2562, the Six Emeralds, a faction in the Huai Heavenly Fleet, attempted to take a Charéan trading vessel hostage in an attempt to negotiate a bloodless takeover of their planet, but accidentally caused the vessel's Q-magnet drive to fail, causing it to meltdown and killing everyone on board, including two diplomatics representing CASS.

Due to conflicting information, CASS sent Huai leadership a message asking for clarification about the details of the incident, but was promptly denied access. As a response, Coalition Starfleet, founded just one year prior, was tasked to investigate the disappearance of their diplomats. Upon arrival of the Coalition ship ''King Fesh'', the Six Emerald ship ''Bdireks'' intercepted it, disabled its engines, and captured the crew, but not before an emergency nanowormhole distress call was sent out.

A formal declaration of war was made.

=== First Augment Rebellion (2748) ===
Bioengineering technology had been lost numerous times after Icnosis. Even after the founding of the Coalition, the first two centuries have been mostly limited to gene editing or splicing for non-sentient life. The [[Aosiwi Corporation]] first experimented with human gene editing, making a breakthrough in 2731 with the creation of ''Homo servilis''. They were towering hominids with a mental age of three to four years old, produced initially for menial labour. These initially models were created with a planned obsolescence of six to seven years before their cells would rapidly age, causing their early death. Their use did not see widespread adoption as most members of ''H. servilis'' was sterile, and those who could reproduce bore either stillborns or infants with severe birth defects.

The successor species, known as [[Augments]] (''Homo exsequens''), was developed in 2742. Like their predecessors, Augments averaged over two meters in height but possessed features more closely resembling ''Homo sapiens''. They were engineered to survive in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 52°C with minimal shelter or clothing, and to tolerate atmospheric compositions typically hazardous to humans. Crucially, their intelligence was greatly increased, able to process information in speeds slightly faster than ''Homo sapiens''. Augments were marketed as ideal assistants for frontier settlement.

Although the Coalition constitution’s definition of 'sophont' technically applied to Augments, they were not explicitly recognized as such in law or policy. Due to the substantial political and economic influence wielded by the Aosiwi Corporation within the Coalition, legislative efforts to secure legal protections for Augments were largely unsuccessful. As a result, Augments were widely regarded as property, leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment, abuse, and even extrajudicial killings.

In 2748, a coordinated effort broke out across multiple worlds that saw Augments take up arms against their owners, and establish strongholds among many human-settled peripheral words both under and outside Coalition space. In a few months, many Augments were forcibly recalled by Aosiwi private security and Coalition task forces assembled to address the rebellion.

=== Second Augment Rebellion (2793) ===
In the aftermath of the first Augment rebellion, the Coalition enacted stringent new laws regulating the creation, management, and identification of Augments. Legislation passed in 2751 required that all Aosiwi-produced Augments be equipped with remotely-activated security devices capable of neutralizing disobedient individuals, and mandated that new Augments possess distinctive, easily identifiable physical traits.

In response, the Aosiwi Corporation developed the second generation of Augments, designated ''Homo exsequens indicatus''. These Augments were engineered with conspicuous reddish-pink skin, golden irises, and bioluminescent markings distributed across their bodies, ensuring instant recognition by humans and automated surveillance systems.

Each ''H. exsequens estigmenus'' individual was implanted with an advanced kill-switch device, operable remotely by owners or centrally by the Corporation. The kill-switch served a two-stage function. Its primary purpose was to serve as a safeguard against financial loss for owners: when activated, it ceased the emission of a suppressive hormone, allowing a venom gland located beneath the hypothalamus to release a potent paralytic agent. This agent would immobilize the Augment without causing permanent harm, enabling the owner to return the noncompliant Augment to the Aosiwi Corporation for reconditioning and potential resale or rehabilitation.

If reconditioning failed or if the owner opted for termination, the kill-switch’s secondary mechanism could be triggered. This involved the detonation of precisely placed micro-explosives, instantly severing the spinal cord at the base of the skull and ensuring irreversible loss of motor function and higher brain activity.

This dual-stage security system—combining visible physical identifiers with graduated, owner-controlled incapacitation and termination—was intended to provide reassurance to policymakers and the public that Augments could be reliably controlled and managed as property. == History ==
The human Yahatan culture appeared on Artashia around 350 AAI. Its civilization thrived for five centuries until their downfall in the 900s AAI, likely due to plague.

Artashia was rediscovered by Hevans in 1632 AAI. It was named ''Ortagašai'' in Old Iquis ('blue-green place'), after the blue-green hue of the planet.

The first colony ships arrived on Artashia arrived in 1778 AAI by Hevan pioneers. The untapped resources of Artashia soon attracted many more prospective settlers that the world's population soon reached one million in 1796 AAI.

The [[Artashian Colonial Authority]] was established in 1800 AAI, as a neutral representative that sought to mediate disputes between various Hevan nation-states who began to divide up the planet for their own gain. Many treaties were signed to prevent irresponsible ecological abuse.

By the 3rd centruy AAI, civilization on Heva returned to a more primitive form compared to the ancestors of the settlers that had originally arrived from Incognita, as pastoral and agricultural lifestyles were far more productive for community growth. Old Iquis began to appear as a distinct language separate from [[Proto-Icnotic A]].

Hevans leaders styled themselves with the hereditary title ''[[ashra]]'' (Old Iquis: ''wāšra''), organizing themselves into recognizable nation-states by the 7th century AAI.

The Teroti had managed to unite their continent [[Terot]] under a monarchy since 1003 CE.

=== First Ecumenopolis ===

By 1462 AAI, the urban sprawl of Heva grew to cover most of the existing landmasses, as the planet began to suffer the consequences of massive rates of urbanization made possible by automated construction technology and a cheap work force.

The complete coverage of all available landmasses dictated many local governments to band together to reinforce existing buildings with [[nanocrete]] to support a second layer of urbanization above the current cities.

The construction of Level 2, then called New Heva, began in 1481 AAI.

=== Hevan World Federation (1930-2021) ===
Heva was forcefully united under a world government, as the [[Hevan World Federation]], mainly in a Teroti-led planetwide conquest that lasted from 1895 to 1930 AAI. The Teroti expanded their sovereignty to the entire planet, declaring a worldwide monarchy on Heva.

=== Great Devastation (2021 AAI) ===

In 2021 AAI, several factions launched nuclear attacks upon each other, devastating much of the important urban centers. The nuclear detonations were powerful enough to collapse many levels of the urban structures, significantly damaging global infrastructure and waste management. The event wiped out more than 78% of the global population, which numbered around 19 billion at the time.

=== Artashian Subjugation (2356) ===
In 2354, the [[Star Republic of Artashia]] launched a planetary invasion of Heva in an attempt to use the still-recovering Hevan population as slave labour to harvest metals and other materials from the ruins of the First Ecumenopolis. By 2356, most of Heva has been secured by the Artashian Starcorps.

Artashian rule lasted almost a century before damages incurred from attacks by Hevan resistance became too costly for Artashian operations to continue on Heva. The Artashian government announced a full-scale withdrawl from Heva in 2448.

=== Second Ecumenopolis ===
Under Artashian rule, newer stabilization technologies allowed the occupational government to begin construction of a new layer of urban growth on top of the ruins of the First Ecumenopolis, intended to be settled by Artashian elites. The Second Ecumenopolis officially begins on the 35th level of the Hevan Ecumenopolis.

=== Heva-Artashian War (2510-2514) ===
The Hevan military junta launched devasting planetary attacks on Artashian settlements across the Settled Systems, which led to a full out war between the two polities. By the end of the conflict, both sides collectively incurred casualties of up to five billion.

=== Formation of the Coalition (2525) ===
The anti-war Vermillion Revolution broke out in 2514 across worlds controlled by the militant Star Republic of Artashia and the Hevan Planetary Government, including the Artashian-occupied [[Bzhao]] homeworld of [[Rwoth]].

The resulting civilian-led governments sued for peace, and entered negotiations the same year.

The Star System Economic Forum was established in 2516 as an economic platform to promote cooperation between star systems in the region.

Closer economic ties and co-reliance among the star systems culminated in the ratification of the [[Incognita V Accords]], resulting in the formation of the [[Coalition of Allied Star Systems]] in 2525 with the founding worlds of Heva, [[Artashia]], [[Carthage]], and [[Rwoth]].

What precisely is a level is determined locally by the constituent district, but most districts tend to define levels as 'ten floors tall'. This means some of the tallest buildings with its foundations on the first level actually spans numerous levels as vertical urbanization necessitated new surfaces build around the existing buildings.

=== First Ecumenopolis ===
The First Ecumenopolis describes the levels of now mostly uninhabited urban growth that had been built prior to 2021 AAI. It is generally inaccessible by members of the public, but government technicians, scholars, and other related personnel are granted supervized access to these levels. These levels are under atmospheric control and constant surveillance to prevent structural decay to support the Second Ecumenopolis directly above it.

==== 1st to 24th levels ====
As the 1st to 24th levels of the Hevan Ecumenopolis is toxic, dangerous, and uninhabited, these levels are restricted to members of the public, and is constantly flooded with nerve gases to prevent unauthorized habitation. It is also patrolled by heavily-armed security drones. These levels, once home to the early inhabitants of the ecumenopolis, consists mostly of [[nanocrete]] structural reinforcements to support the massive city above.

==== 25th to 34th levels ====
These levels are home to the poorest members of Hevan society. Conditions are often unsanitary, and disease is common. Crime rates are high. Privacy is rare, as most people live in densely packed urban clusters.

The 24th level is not uninhabited, but is designated as a buffer zone between the inhabited levels and the levels flooded with nerve gasses.

=== Second Ecumenopolis ===
The Second Ecumenopolis describes the levels of inhabited urban growth build after 2021 AAI. The 35th to 42th levels were built between 2256 and 2525, and the rest (43rd-102nd) were built after 2525.

==== 35th to 55th levels ====
These layers are dedicated to infrastructure necessary to support the massive population on the planet. There is also a significant population of inhabitants here, but like their counterparts in the 25th to 34th levels, are mostly impoverished.

==== 56th-90th levels ====
These layers are home to the planet's middle class. Conditions here are relatively cleaner, and crime rates are lower. These areas are often heavily policed to prevent inhabitants from the lower levels from loitering here.

==== 90th-102nd levels ====
These layers are the least dense out of all the layers, offering the elites of the [[Coalition of Allied Star Systems]] a luxurious lifestyle of hedonistic indulgence. The 95th to 102nd levels offer its inhabitants access to real sunlight.

== Atmosphere ==
Heva's relatively high neon atmospheric concentration allows for spectacularly 'bloody' auroras.

== Religion ==
Hevans religious beliefs are too diverse to be categorized, but several indigenous religious movements that have developed on Heva include several common characteristics.

Hevans, like many faiths in the [[Settled Systems]], worships Earth as a divine place. They believe that humans were created by an primordial entity on Earth, but hubris and pride caused them to be exiled to the Settled Systems.

Hevans view their early history, before the irreversible damage that building the Hevan ecumenopolis caused, as a wild realm full of magic and adventure. Countless fairy-tales and epics are set during this mythical time.
